Surf in Playa negra, Avellanas and Witches Rock

Google Earth map of the local surf breaks of Playa Negra, Playa Majagua, and Playa Callejones

Playa Negra

Featured in Endless Summer II, this bucket list righthand reef break is a one-minute walk down the beach from Casa Bosque. Ideal for intermediate and advanced surfers, however, with the right conditions, even beginners will enjoy this famous surf spot!

Playa Majagua

Casa Bosque's beach path steps out at Playa Majagua, which blends into Playa Negra. Majagua is primarily an advanced A-Frame reef break for expert surfers only and we recommend speaking with our surf coach before heading out.

Callejones

Just south of Playa Majagua, Callejones is best known for a deeper water reef break with various peaks breaking right and left. Ideal for intermediate to advanced surfers.

Junquillal

Junquillal draws surfers to a fast-breaking beach break with various A-frame peaks along its long stretch of sandy gray. South of Playa Negra and Callejones.

Playa Venado (Las Brisas)

South of Junquillal you'll find an outer-right reef break "Las Brisas" perfect for intermediate and advanced surfers. Off the beaten path this surf spot is uncrowded with a long beach-break that ends at the river mouth.
